Beaumont Trophy

Drama in abundance. The last round of the national series was turned on it’s head several times before an epic showdown in Stamfordham.

An early puncture for George the first time up the famous Ryals climb was far from ideal. The support of Logan, Ethan and Matt helped George get back in to the bunch with minimal effort.

Attacks were relentless at the midpoint of the race and either a crash taking out half of the team, it was down to Logan and Ethan to commit to shutting things down.

A lack of our riders left in the race led to a dangerous group of 8 riders getting away, which put the pressure on spirit to deliver in the sprint.

Drama struck on the last lap as George crashed trying to close a gap on a slippery bend. Mechanic Jason was already at hand with a spare bike as soon as George picked himself up and a smooth change meant George made it back to the peleton battered, but with enough left to contest the finish.

George came home 3rd in the bunch sprint, enough to comfortably take the National Road Series title as a result of an outstanding team effort.
